What should I expect on an initial appointment?

The initial consultation provides an opportunity for you to discuss your health in detail. During this session, you'll describe the nature of your pain or complaint, including factors that worsen or alleviate it, as well as the onset and progression of your symptoms. We will also go over your medical history so bring any relevant documents like prescritions.
The practitioner will perform an assessment that includes evaluating your movement and posture, as well as conducting various orthopedic and system examinations (such as cardiology, respiratory, abdominal, and neurological tests) if needed, to determine a diagnosis.

Once a diagnosis is made, we will discuss how it can be addressed and provide a prognosis.

A personalized treatment plan will be developed for you, which will include hands-on osteopathic treatments such as physical manipulation, stretching, and massage. We will dissucss how you want to be treated and form this plan together. 
Additionally, the treatment plan will incorporate exercises, lifestyle modifications, and nutritional guidance to help you manage your condition effectively and promote long-term health.

What should I wear?

For treatment and assessment you may be asked to dress down so the problem area is visable. So it is important to wear clothes you are comfortable with. Consider shorts, vests, appropriate underwear. You do not have to undress if you are not comfortable, however.

We will also have towels and gowns to cover. A chaperone is always welcome.

What is the difference between physiotherapy, chiropractic and osteoapthy

These 3 professions all treat uskuloskeletal conditions using manual therapy. 
The main differences are in phiolosophy of treatment. Each professsion may use slightly different techniques.

Osteopaths are holistic- they see the body as a whole.
Chiropractors may focus on the spine.
Physios are rehab focused.

However, as more practitioners are becoming researched based these professions are becoming more similar. Using similar treatment and assessment techniques.

Do I need a G.P referal to attend?

You can attend without any referal.

Can you provide referals to the NHS or private MRI/ Xrays?

Yes!

This is something we can discuss in an appointment and will be provided if both practitioner and patient think it is needed.

How many appointments will I require?

This will be clear after a consultation. Depending on the severity of the issue the number of sessoins vary. 
On average a patient will see an osteopath 3-6 times before their issues resolve.
